Changes in UPI rules

 

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has made several changes to make UPI transactions more secure. Now users will be able to check account balance only 50 times a day. UPI autopay transactions will now happen in fixed time slots. This will reduce traffic and improve the system. The status of a transaction can now be checked only three times, that too with a gap of at least 90 seconds between each time.

Change in trading market timings

According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI),

From July 1, 2025, the call money market will open from 9 am to 7 pm.

From August 1, 2025, the timing of the market repo and TREP market has been fixed from 9 am to 4 pm.

The purpose of this change is to increase liquidity and transparency in the market.

 

Insurance cover discontinued on SBI credit card

 

SBI has announced the discontinuation of air accident insurance available on many of its co-branded cards. Some ELITE cards will no longer get insurance of Rs 1 crore. Insurance of Rs 50 lakh will also be discontinued on cards with PRIME and Platinum variants. This change will affect those cardholders who used the card based on these benefits.

 

Now the air accident insurance cover of Rs 1 crore will not be available on the following cards

Punjab & Sind Bank (PSB) SBI Card ELITE

 

Karur Vysya Bank (KVB) SBI Card ELITE

Discontinued: Air accident insurance cover of Rs 50 lakh

 

Now the air accident insurance cover of Rs 50 lakh will not be available on the following cards.
