Tensions in India-US relations began when Trump threatened tariffs and later imposed 50% tariffs. Israel advised both countries to resolve the dispute through dialogue. Netanyahu said that both Modi and Trump are his good friends and he would personally advise Modi to deal with Trump.
Relations between India and America started to sour a little when Trump threatened to impose tariffs on India just a few months after taking oath. India was hoping that the matter would be resolved through talks, but the date on the calendar changed and Trump imposed a 50 percent tariff on India.
The sourness in the relations between the two countries did not go down well with India's very close friend Israel and it advised India and the US to resolve the tariff dispute through talks. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu even said that he would give some advice to PM Modi to deal with Donald Trump.
'Modi-Trump both are my friends'
Netanyahu said in a conversation with the media, 'PM Modi and Trump both are my very good friends. I will give some advice to PM Modi to deal with Donald Trump, but in private.' Netanyahu said that the relations between India and America are very strong and the tariff dispute can be resolved through talks.
He said, 'The foundation of the relations between the two countries is very strong. It will be in the interest of both India and America that they reach a consensus and resolve the tariff dispute. Both the countries are our friends.' Let us tell you that Donald Trump is angry about India buying oil from Russia and he has announced to impose a total tariff of 50 percent on India.
On the other hand, India has called Trump's decision irrational and citing its energy needs, it has been said that India will not compromise on protecting the interests of its people. PM Modi said that if I have to pay the price for this, then I am ready. Netanyahu also expressed his desire to come to India.
