UPI Payment: Nowadays everyone prefers to send money through mobile. Just one click and the money reaches the other person's account. Whether you have to give 10 rupees to a tea vendor or send 10,000 rupees to a relative through UPI. Now everything has become easy. Many times it happens that we made the payment, money was deducted from our account, but the other person says, the money has not come

 

UPI Payment: Nowadays everyone likes to send money through mobile. Just one click and the money reaches the other person's account. Whether it is to give 10 rupees to the tea vendor or to send 10,000 rupees to a relative through UPI. Now everything has become easy. Many times it happens that we made the payment, money was also deducted from our account, but the other person says, the money has not come. You get nervous because the money has been deducted from your account. Many times the thought comes to mind that whether we have been cheated or not?

 

In such a situation, many times the person transferring the money gets upset. But the truth is that this often happens due to technical glitch or server delay. In most cases the money either comes back or reaches the receiver.

 

What happens when the money is deducted but does not reach the other person?

If there is a problem with the bank or UPI server, then  automatically resolved within 1 hr . During this time, either the money is returned to the sender or reaches the receiver. If Pending is written in the UPI app, it means that the transaction is still in process. But if Fail is written, then it becomes necessary to lodge a complaint.

 

What does NPCI say?

 

According to the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), if you have done a UPI transaction, then Success should appear on the BHIM screen and an SMS should come from the bank. If you do not get confirmation for 1 hour, then contact the customer support of the bank immediately. If the transaction has failed but the money has been deducted, then NPCI says that the money should be returned within 1 hour. If this does not happen, then you can complain to the bank.

 

What to do if the money does not come even after 1 hour?

 

Use in-app support in UPI apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm which have Help or Raise a Dispute option. If the problem is not resolved within 24 hours, contact the bank directly. As per RBI rules, the bank has to resolve the problem within 3 working days. If the problem is still not resolved, the matter can go to NPCI. If the problem is not resolved even after 30 days, you can complain to RBI's Banking Lokpal.
